Two theatres with separate purposes: clean surgery and all other procedures. Each has a full anaesthesia station.
Operating theatre A · clean surgery
Anaesthesia stationThe operating suite is the heart of the surgical part of the practice. Two independent theatres make it possible to separate “clean” procedures (orthopaedic and planned abdominal procedures) from procedures with a higher risk of infection (abscesses, wounds, oral procedures). Each theatre has its own operating table with patient warming, a shadowless lamp, an anaesthesia station and access to sterile supplies.
Separating the theatres genuinely lowers the risk of wound infection after a procedure, one of the most common causes of post-operative complications. The owner receives a patient who was operated on in conditions that can be checked and enforced, not merely declared.
A planned and an urgent procedure can be carried out in parallel without blocking each other, so an emergency patient does not wait for a planned operation to finish.
