An autoclave with biological and chemical monitoring, packing of instruments, and an auditable flow of sterile material.
Sterilisation roomEvery instrument set goes through washing, disinfection, packing and steam sterilisation in an autoclave. The effectiveness of the process is confirmed by chemical indicators on every pack and by periodic biological tests. The packs carry an expiry date and reach the theatre through an airlock.
A wound infection is a complication that does not appear on the price list but costs the most: in time, money and the animal's health. Documented sterilisation is the cheapest insurance.
A written record of the instrument flow makes it possible to trace which set was used to operate on a given patient, part of STD-05.
