Medical library

A separate room with a veterinary book collection and a computer workstation, a place for studying the literature and analysing difficult cases.

What it is and how it works

The library is a separate back-of-house room, not open to patients: a collection of veterinary textbooks and journals covering the individual specialties, complemented by a computer workstation with access to literature databases and to the practice's imaging archive. We use it when a case calls for checking a protocol, comparing an X-ray or ultrasound image with the published literature, or preparing for an unusual procedure.

What it offers

For the animal and the owner

A difficult case does not depend only on what the veterinarian remembers: there is a place to check, to consult the literature and to make a decision based on current knowledge rather than guesswork.

In the diagnostic process

Access to source literature and the case archive on site shortens the time between a diagnostic doubt and its resolution, without putting off the decision until someone finds the answer at home.
